Digital Prints

My digital prints are explorations of organic, interspecies and technological hybridization and mutation through various processes of traditional rendering, sketching and painting, and digital compositional layering and processing. I see digital printing as an extension of traditional printmaking, particularly intaglio etching where the plate image is incised with refined lines, rich inks, and calligraphic inscriptions. This extends to their historical references in antiquated scientific illustrations and research documents. These prints represent our kinship with living beings as a continuous superorganism that evoke beauty, desolation, poetry and mourning. They are a prophetic vision for hope in biology's resilience, ebullience and adaptability at the apex of the Anthropocene's mass extinction event.

Despite the lapse in exhibitions, I have continuously produced studio work in digital imaging, music, sound, and video. Much of my energy and time was devoted to founding "media arts" as a new arts subject are in K12.

Previous Artistic Exhibitions (selected)I am an intermedia artist, including sculptural, environmental, installation-based video, music and sound; traditional and electronic mixed media; multi-channel media production for theatre and exhibitions; and interactive (code, circuitry) sculpture
